1- Who is nolongerhuman as a band?
In the studio, nolongerhuman is just me. I do the writing, recording, vocals, and basic mixing and the finished songs are sent out for mix tweaks and mastering.
Live, I am joined by one of several keyboard players that I’ve been fortunate enough to work with over the years.
2- What are the influences of nolongerhuman for your current sound?
Musically, there is a lot of X-Fusion and Suicide Commando influence in there. But I also watch an absolute ton of movies and the right film can provide inspiration for songs, or even just moments in songs.
Also, I find crowd feedback and interactions during shows and conversations incredibly helpful. I’ve always worked hard to be approachable and open to conversations with as many people as I can.
3- What some of his lyrics are about and how nolongerhuman is inspired for their creation?
My life, experiences, relationships, friendships, disappointments, and heartbreaks. I think of the lyrics as diaries, each one therapy in its own way. Ideally, those experiences are shared with the listener and the song takes on a meaning of its own to the person experiencing it.
4- Currently what are the plans for this 2026 of nolongerhuman?
I’ve been doing fairly constant live shows through 2025, and have played some of my favorite places in the world, with some amazing bands. I also have a few surprises for 2026.
My first ever shows in Mexico City, Puebla, and Oaxaca are coming up in a couple of weeks, and later in the summer I’ll be playing a city in the U.S. that nolongerhuman has never played. Stay tuned for that announcement. Other than that, I’ll have a single coming up shortly, and am working on a 5th album, as well as another upcoming release that will be a surprise 🙂
5- What does it feel like to be nolongerhuman that some electro, aggro bands are currently missing?
I would say that I see a lot of bands sticking to a formula that works in the short-term but lacks substance for me. Lyrics have gotten very minimal, and the story-telling aspect of the sound is often traded for one note style aggression. It’s an aggressive genre for sure, but for me, music has to find truth and emotional content.
Yes, a song can be angry – but I want context. Why is it angry, and how does it resolve? Just like real life, no one can wander around only experiencing one feeling. So, the simple answer – I’d like to see more vulnerability in our genre. Less image and more connection with people in the community.
6- What advice would you give to nolongerhuman to someone novice who wants to start their electro, aggro band?
Focus on songwriting. Find your own voice, decide what you are saying, and stand behind it. Expect for it to take a long time. Use that time to perfect your skills. Reach out to other musicians. Many of us are very friendly!
7- nolongerhuman would like to one day lend its soundtrack to some anime, whether it’s gore or action?
It would be a dream to do that, actually. Ghost In the Shell or anything cyberpunk would be my first choice.
8- Upcoming events, social media, platforms?
January 22, 23, 24 – Oaxaca, Puebla, Mexico City. Then I’ll be in Los Angeles, CA in May supporting Angels & Agony. In July, there will be a surprise show that should make many, many people happy. And next winter I hope to be back in Europe.
Social media, I’m easy to find and I respond to all my messages. I am mostly on Instagram or TikTok, or Youtube, but people can always reach me on Facebook as well.
9- Something extra to add to Mexican and Latin American fans?
Been looking forward to coming back for years now. I will see you all soon!
