nolongerhuman Update

Some of you may have noticed I sort of dropped off the radar for the past month. I got hit with a particularly vicious bout of COVID-19 a week or so into July. I’m triple vaxxed and this was my third time having it, so initially I shrugged it off and figured it would last 5 – 7 days like before. This time was quite different.

It continued to get worse and worse, eventually leading to me being bedridden for more than two weeks. Nearly totally unable to move around, sleep came only in short waves, breathing became difficult, and my throat was so raw that even water was painful to swallow. Food tasted like nothing.

This led to the unfortunate cancellation of the Los Angeles show (stay tuned for a rescheduled date). I’m so sorry to anyone who was planning to go, and to Jesus Guerrero, and everyone at Klub Terminal, for the last-minute cancellation.

Fortunately, it did finally hit its peak early last week. Food had a taste again, though everything tasted different than what it was supposed to (except ramen, somehow) but as of now, I’m near full recovery aside from some slight lasting confusion and bodily weakness. I have a doctor’s appointment to check out my lung function and everything else shortly. So if I am slow to respond, please give me a little extra time. I should be up and running by next week.

Also, if you have ordered merch please know your packages are here and ready to go; I didn’t forget about you.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out in this time. It means more than you know to feel so cared for.

Everyone out there, stay safe. COVID is still floating around and there and this one I just had was frankly, pretty scary stuff.
