After almost 10 years, the American nolongerhuman released a new record. However, this is not a short time, huge changes have taken place on the industrial music level & peripheral areas in the meantime.
However, when the first single, the song “Dead Inside”, appeared on YouTube, I must admit, I was very excited. They did not simply bring the characteristics of the genre, they were not satisfied with a decent industrial work. This one came a little later on “Insects Not God”, then “Therapy” came and finally on May 5 the whole “Marionette” album. And how was it worth waiting 10 years for this? Definitely yes!
We can listen to a very mature, finely woven material, where every track is carefully written. This is a truly mature new school dark electro album, in which the melodiousness does not come at the expense of the dark atmosphere, – in fact! – deepens the atmosphere with symphonic musical effects and elements.
Among the 10 new songs, “How this felt” is a bit of a cuckoo’s egg, since it was already published on a 2016 Electronic Saviors compilation, but it doesn’t stand out from the album.
Although it is only the middle of spring, this record is probably the peak performance of new school dark electro this year. We think that with this publication, the bar in the genre has been set so high that it would be horribly difficult to even touch it from the get-go.

Majdnem 10 év után adott ki új lemezt az amerikai nolongerhuman. Azért ez nem rövid idő, az industrial zenei szintéren & peremterületein hatalmas változások zajlottak le közben.
Viszont amikor megjelent az első single, a “Dead Inside“ című dal Youtube-on, bevallom, akkor nagyon izgalomba jöttem. Nem egyszerűen hozták a műfaj jellemzőit, nem elégedtek meg egy tisztes iparos munkával. Ez a kicsivel később jött az “Insects Not God”-ra még inkább állt, majd érkezett a “Therapy” és végül május 5-én az egész “Marionette” lemez. És hogy megérte erre 10 évet várni? Határozottan igen!
Egy nagyon kiforrott, finom szövésű anyagot hallgathatunk, ahol minden szám gondosan van megírva. Igazán érett new school dark electro album ez, amiben a dallamosság nem megy a sötét hangulat kárára, – sőt! – a szimfonikus zenei hatásokkal, elemekkel mélyíti el a hangulatot.
A 10 dal új dal közül a ”How this felt” kicsit kakukktojás, hiszen az már megjelent egy 2016-os Electronic Saviors válogatáson, ám nem lóg ki az albumról.
Bár még csak tavasz közepe van, vélhetően ez a lemez a new school dark electro idei csúcsteljesítménye. Szerintünk olyan magasra helyezték ezzel a kiadvánnyal a lécet a műfajban, hogy talán nekifutásból is borzalmasan nehéz lenne még csak megérinteni is.
