nolongerhuman has long been a celebrated staple of the international and North American aggressive electronic music scenes, but has spent most of those years operating as an instrumental and driving force in the architecture of Portland’s cultural contributions to what is widely referred to as “Aggrotech” and “Terror EBM”. These categorizations, however, ultimately and undeniably fall short, painting far too plain a picture for a band whose sound has continually grown and evolved in its complexity and unrelentingly delivery of punishing and beat-driven social, emotional, and political commentary. nolongerhuman is a soundtrack to both the human condition and its continued struggle, a transcendence and delivery to somewhere and something entirely new.
Since 1999, Fraqtured : Sound has been a name long synonymous with much of Portland’s Dark Electronic, Industrial, and underground histories. For nearly 25 years, his live performances, live event production, and collaborative work with many of the most celebrated and influential contemporary electronic and experimental artists have taken him around the globe. Tonight, Fraqtured : Sound returns to Portland after nearly a decade since his last live performance in the city, to share his unique brand of darkened electro and ritual noise – An intimate and haunting exploration of what was, what is, and what shall be. These are the soundscapes of the forgotten.
Ghost Motor – A seemingly endless exception to nearly every genre one could attempt to pigeonhole them into. They effortlessly combine and transition through a lexicon of sonic styles and writing, never staying in one place long enough to be kept there. With a sound uniquely all their own, Ghost Motor incorporates a near-perfect blend of Dark Shoegaze, Cold Dark Wave, Goth, and Post-Industrial.
